Kids:
-
Brewster, a dapple, tweenie
dachshund who believes himself to be human. He is very conniving and we
believe him to be currently plotting to take over the world...and he
could do it. We imagine that if he had a voice it would sound like
Stewie from the T.V. show Family Guy.
-
Riddick, a
German Shepherd mix who had been dumped by a backyard breeder. We drove
all the way to Indiana and back in one evening (over 10 hours) to pick
him up. He was only 8 weeks old and weighed 21 lbs when he came to us!
He has completed training and is a very even-tempered, loving soul. He
is always watchful over his family and loves to be given tasks.
-
Angus, a Pugeranian. We were his
third home as he takes a special kind of love and patience. Our vet
calls him "Napoleon" because of his big attitude trapped in a small
body. He is full of energy and life...and previously destruction,
although with proper training he has been cured of that (except for the
occasional small incident). When he first came to us, he ate our whole
couch by himself, caused us to wake up in a sea of feathers (after
shredding our pillows and comforter during the night), and would thrash
around on the ground refusing to walk on a leash. We're happy to report
he is a sweet, cuddly, active, and peaceful dog these days but never
fails to entertain us with his antics.
-
Max, our 15 year-old German
Shepherd/Collie Mix who passed on in 2007. We have never known such a
devoted and loyal companion and miss him every day.
- Sweet Pea, the turtle who lives
with two goldfish that now outweigh him. He was the size of a quarter when
he came to us, and now is larger than a hand and lives in his own "resort"
complete with water, land, live plants, and fresh food. He is very curious
and interested in the world but prefers to live alone (except for his two
friends the goldfish).
